Two 19-year-old men died after they were shot at a home in Brown Deer.It happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night near Meadowside Court and Dean Road. Brown Deer police said there was an altercation and then a shooting.WISN 12 News asked police if they knew of suspects, or if the two victims shot at each other. They would not provide those details.Family identified one of the victims as 19-year-old Amareon Allen, a former football player at Milwaukee Marshall High School.”I said, well don’t be gone long. He said OK, I’ll be right back. And he ain’t never coming back no more,” Kewannee Allen, Amareon’s mother told 12 News Thursday.She said her son asked to borrow her car Wednesday night to get food. Hours passed and she tried to get ahold of him. Around 2 a.m. she said she received a call.”I answered it, and the police asked me, ‘did I have a certain type of vehicle.’ And I said yes and said what’s wrong, and I said, was my son OK?” she explained.Panic rushed over her. She said three officers came to her door and asked her and her fiancé to identify her son via picture.”I’ll never forget that picture of my baby laying there,” she said. “I’ll never forget that.”WISN 12 News spoke briefly with the other shooting victim’s father. He said his son was also 19, but did not want to share more at that time.Allen’s family said they are heartbroken, confused and want answers.WISN 12 News reached out to Brown Deer police several times to ask what led up to the shooting, and who was involved. They have not responded as of Thursday evening.Neighbors in that area are also confused.”I couldn’t sleep, I was up all night,” said Pat Zuba, who’s lived in the area for 15 years. “I keep thinking maybe they’ll announce something new.”Zuba said the neighborhood is quiet, and filled with walking trails where families bring their dogs. She said it’s upsetting to know her neighbors are grieving.
