THE PUB OWNERS AS HE WAS AT THE BAR EARLIER IN THE NIGHT AND RETURNED AT CLOSING TIME, LOOKING FOR HIS CREDIT CARD. DOCUMENTS SAY HE HEARD CUSTOMERS LAUGHING AT A TABLE AMONGST THEMSELVES AND THOUGHT THEY WERE LAUGHING AT HIM. AUTHORITIES SAY HE THREATENED TO GO TO S PIHICKUP TRUCK AND GET A GUN, WHICH HE DID, EMPLOYEES WSA MHI COCK THE GUN. HE POINTED THE GUN IN THE REDICTION OF EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS. ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES CLOSED THE DOOR ON HIM, KNOCKING HIM TO THE GROUND. Police say employee pinned man down before officers arrived
An East Kingston man faces several criminal threatening charges after Exeter police say he pointed a gun at people inside Shooter’s Pub.Exeter police said they arrived at Shooter’s Pub at about 11 p.m. Friday to find Ricky Gagne, 49, pinned down by an employee.Witnesses told police Gagne was at the business looking for his credit card when he overheard people laughing and assumed it was about him. He then allegedly threatened to get a gun, left the pub and returned with the weapon before loading a round, police said.”When anyone uses a firearm to threaten people, we always take it seriously,” said Rockingham County Attorney Patricia Conway.Police said a worker, described by the pub’s owner as an adult man, was able to push Gagne to the ground and knock the gun away. He was held until officers arrived, police said.”It could have been a lot worse,” said Robert Ficara, owner of Shooter’s Pub. “I’m very thankful, and, you know, (the employee) doesn’t want a whole lot of fanfare, so I’m respecting that, but he would be my definition of a hero, for sure.”Police said the handgun had one round chambered. Gagne is being held on preventative detention.
