ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Wednesday.
“Professional matters pertaining to Pakistan Army were discussed during the meeting,” Prime Minister’s Office said on Twitter while sharing a video clip of the meeting.
Also, Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a high level meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday regarding his upcoming visit to China. During the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed on the ongoing discussions with Chinese officials on concrete plans to enhance cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, Information Technology and exports. Federal Ministers Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Hammad Azhar, Shaukat Tarin, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Asad Umar, Commerce Adviser Abdul Razak Dawood, National Security Advisor Dr Moeed Yusuf, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Khalid Mansoor, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and senior officers attended the meeting.
The meeting at the Prime Minister’s House was also attended by the Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). According to official sources, the meeting discussed security situation in the region and the upcoming visit of the premier to China.
PM directs ministers to
initiate public uplift projects to win masses’ trust
Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed ministers, ministers of state and advisers to make strategic plans for 2022 for their ministries and departments and initiate projects which could benefit masses.
The prime minister made these remarks while chairing a meeting of ministers and party spokespersons/party leaders at the PM office which reviewed the performance of various ministries and political situation in the country as well.
Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the ministers to improve their ministerial performance, initiate projects and share success stories to counter the opposition propaganda against the government.
The issue of change of accountability adviser also came under discussion and informed the meeting that Musadiq Abbasi has been appointed as new adviser and made it clear that the process of fair and ruthless accountability of those who looted national wealth would be continued.
The prime minister said 2022 is crucial for the government because during this year, the government has to deliver to the people in order to win their confidence for next elections as well.
The prime minister said after the successful launch of health card, the government is now working on criminal justice reforms which would directly benefit people.
