GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — A suspect has been arrested in a connection with a drive-by shooting that killed a 7-year-old girl in Glendale, police said Thursday.
They said 29-year-old Terriance Armstrong Jr. was taken into custody on suspicion of homicide, drive-by shooting, aggravated assault, prohibited possessor of a gun, endangerment, unlawful discharge of a firearm and possession of narcotics for sale.
Armstrong’s car was identified as a vehicle of interest in the morning hours and was located by detectives, according to police.
It was unclear if Armstrong has a lawyer yet who can speak on his behalf about the case.
Police said the girl died early Thursday morning after she was struck by multiple gunshots fired into her mother’s car by somebody in another vehicle.

They said the shooting occurred after a vehicle followed the woman’s car out of a business parking lot where the woman’s boyfriend and at least one other person in the other vehicle had exchanged words.
The mother had gone to the parking lot to pick up her boyfriend shortly after midnight Wednesday.
She drove her wounded daughter to a hospital, where the child was pronounced dead.
Several other people in the car weren’t injured.
