The Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 2 was released earlier this week on Friday. A sequel to the 2013 release, the film which also features Akshaye Khanna, Tabu, and Shreya Saran takes the story of the Salgaonkar family forward and was well-received by critics and audiences alike. After a good start at the box office, the business of Drishyam 2 saw an increase in collections on its second day running.

In the overseas market as well, the film has opened on a high note. Within the overseas territory of U.A.E/G.C.C Drishyam 2 opened with a bang. In fact, the film managed to draw in a massive USD 259k [Rs. 2.11 cr] inclusive of paid previews on Thursday, within this market alone. Not surprisingly, with positive feedback from the audience and good reviews, Drishyam 2 has fast become the audiences’ first choice in theatres, ending the somewhat dry spell Bollywood releases have been seeing at the box office.

Going forward, Drishyam 2 which enjoys the audiences’ favour is expected to grow by leaps and bounds. As per trade predictions, the film which released across 4150 screens (domestic 3302 screens + overseas 858+ screens) will see immense growth over its opening weekend.
