RRR Box Office Collections: Film fails to surpass Baahubali 2; becomes the 4th all-time highest opening day grosser among Hindi dubbed movies :Bollywood Box Office – Bollywood Hungama

The SS Rajamouli directorial RRR finally hit screens yesterday, after much talk and promotion. As expected the film which features Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn took off on a flying start with the critics showering praises on the film. However, when it came to in theatre footfalls RRR saw an increase in booking over evening and night shows on day 1.

In this box office report we take a look at the opening day collections of RRR while comparing the same to other previously released Hindi dubbed movies. Collecting Rs. 20.07 cr RRR does not manage to surpass the collections of Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that had raked in Rs. 41 cr. In fact, RRR becomes the fourth highest all-time opening day grosser among Hindi dubbed films preceded by previous releases like Saaho that collected Rs. 24.40 cr, and Rajinikanth’s 2.0 that collected Rs. 20.25 cr. However the film has managed to perform better than certain other releases like Kabali that collected Rs. 5.2 cr, Baahubali – The Beginning that collected Rs. 5.15 cr, Radhe Shyam that collected Rs. 4.44 cr, Pushpa: The Rise that collected Rs. 3.33 cr, Syeraa Narasimha Reddy that collected Rs. 2.18 cr, and KGF – Chapter 1 that collected Rs. 2.10 cr.

As of now RRR continues to run in theatres, and with positive feedback from the critics and audience alike the business of the film is expected to see an increase over its opening weekend. In fact, advance predictions state that morning and afternoon shows on Day 2 have seen a 40% increase in occupancy as compared to its opening day. This coupled with the weekend holiday will certain boost the business of RRR.
