The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera which hit screens last week on Friday has been floundering at the box office. After taking a tepid start at the box office the business of the Karan Malhorta directorial has continued to remain low over its first Saturday and Sunday. In fact, the Yash Raj Films venture, which also features Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor, has been facing a tough time to entice the audience.

Now, currently on its fourth day running reports suggest that Shamshera has begun a downward spiral. In fact, as per reports, the film has seen a nearly 60% drop in occupancy on its fourth day as compared to its opening day. Interestingly, Shamshera has seen a higher drop than the Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey that saw a 50.51% drop and even the Akshay Kumar starrer Samrat Prithviraj that recorded a 53.27% drop in collections on first Monday as compared to the opening Day. Compounding issues further, morning shows of Shamshera witnessed a measly 3% occupancy rate in most locations while certain territories even reported cancellation of shows due to non-occupancy.

While the massive 4,350 screens across the country have led to a lowered occupancy rate, the general non-acceptance of the film by the audience has certainly spelt doom. In fact, going by the current trend, Shamshera could see its fourth day box office collections hovering around the Rs. 4 cr. mark.
