Protest rallies and demonstrations were held across Azad Jammu and Kashmir, today, on the occasion of Black Day against Indias illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a big protest rally was held in Muzaffarabad under the aegis of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir. The participants of the rally marched from Burhan Wani Chowk while chanting anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. They were wearing black bands and holding black flags to register protest against Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
The rally was led by AJK Minister for Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, PPP leader Shaukat Javed Mir, Dr Muhammad Manzoor, Hurriyat leader Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Usman Ali Hashim, Azmat Hayat Kashmiri, Khalid Mahmood Zaidi, Javed Ahmed, Muhammad Aimal Farzam and others.
While addressing the rally, the speakers said that the Indian occupation in 1947 deprived the people of Jammu and Kashmir of all their basic human rights. They said that India itself went to the UN in 1948 and promised holding of a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir but later backed away from its promise and made the lives of the Kashmiri people miserable.
They lamented that New Delhi has turned the disputed territory into a big prison. They called upon the United Nations Security Council and international human rights organizations to take action against India for its war crimes and human rights abuses in IIOJK.
