Bahawalpur – A friendly cricket match between DC XI and District Health Authority at Dring Stadium Bahawalpur on the occasion of World Polio Day organized by UNICEF and World Health Organization to raise public awareness about anti-polio.
DC Office including Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia, Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Farooq Qamar, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Amir Nazir Kachchi, System Network Administrator Muhammad Azeem Zeeshan, CEO Health Dr Muhammad Iqbal Makwal and DHO Dr Khalid Arain. Health department officials and employees attended.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia said that parents must vaccinate their children up to the age of five against polio. He said that the health department and other concerned agencies should play their role to stay safe from polio and public awareness should be created in this regard. Health CEO Dr Muhammad Iqbal Makwal said that along with the seminar, a walk has also been organized to protect the children from polio so that the awareness of the people is raised and the children can be protected from physical disability.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner distributed certificates of appreciation and shields to those who performed well in the anti-polio drive.
Later, a walk was held from Dring Stadium to stay safe from dengue, which was led by Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia. Walk participants held banners. The Deputy Commissioner said that everyone should keep their home and surroundings clean and water should not be stagnant.
