Lakki marwat – Lakki Marwat District Education Officer (Female) Parveen Khattak has asked the heads of public sector girls’ schools to remove infants’ cots from the schools and focus on improving performance indicators.
She issued the instructions in a letter addressed to the principals and headmistresses of the government-run primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools in the district.
Ms Khattak said that it had been observed that class-IV employees kept charpais while the teachers brought cots to the schools with their infants.
She also directed the heads and teachers to avoid bringing infants with them to schools. The DEO said that the teachers and class-IV employees were also not permitted to run a tuck shop in the premises of schools.
She said that closure of schools due to the pandemic had badly affected the education of girl students, therefore the teachers should refrain from availing unnecessary leave.
