LAHORE – Addressing a meeting of the party’s Rawalpindi chapter on Tuesday, the PML-N’s Vice-President Maryam Nawaz Sharif once again chose to talk about the party’s narrative, the difference of opinion over it, and the final decision making by the party Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Stressing that the difference of opinion was a hallmark of the vibrant parties, she told party men that there was nothing to worry about. “There is nothing to be worried about. We all express our opinion; and, when Mian Sab [Nawaz Sharif] gives his final verdict then all fall in line, be it Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam or Hamza. They all become his soldiers [to implement the decision]”, she explained.
Maryam, however, urged unity in the party ranks saying that the PML-N will get fair elections only if the entire party stands united with Nawaz Sharif. “The usurper will never give us our right on a platter. It must be snatched”, she said, adding, “The enemy will succeed in harming us if we have differences in our ranks”. She further stated that the PML-N had contested the recent local bodies elections as a united force and emerged victorious. “Party’s loss is everybody’s loss”, she averred.

Maryam likened the PML-N with a long racehorse whose future was brighter than the past. “If anybody conspired against us, we know how to give a befitting reply”, she affirmed. Talking about the party’s narrative, she said there was only one narrative in the party. “We always talk of a narrative because we have the one whereas no other party has it. Tell me about a single point in our narrative which conflicts with the Constitution and the law”, she asked party men.
Mian Nawaz Sharif chaired the meeting through video link from London. It was attended among others by Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sana Ullah, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Raja Farooq Haider, Hanif Abbasi, Azma Bokhari and Nuzhat Sadiq.
