PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Forest, Environment and Wildlife Ishtiaq Urmar Thursday urged the media to play its imperative role in creating awareness among masses on environmental pollution and importance of tree plantation. Talking to media here, he said that media being the fourth pillar of the state should help the government in its efforts against environmental pollution and tree plantation by sensitizing masses over the issue. He said the clean and green Pakistan campaign should be considered as a national responsibility and every individual should have to contribute his/her share in the noble cause. The minister said that tree plantation was also part of Islamic teaching and the government as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan was doing utmost efforts to plant as many plants as possible adding that under the Billion Tree Tsunami Project planted over 1.2 billion trees and received acknowledgment from the world community.
