BAHAWALPUR – The Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the National Highway and Motorway Police organized a prestigious event at the Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus.
Nadeem Ashraf Warraich Sector Commander National Highway and Motorway Police N-5 Central to Multan was the chief guest on the occasion. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Athar Mahboob and Nadeem Ashraf Warraich Sector Commander signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their respective institutions. Under the MoU, the mobile unit of the Motorway Police would create awareness among the teachers and students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur regarding road safety. Seminars, lectures and awareness walks on road safety would be held. Internships would be provided to the students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. In addition, the two institutions would conduct training programs and the Executive Training Center would provide assistance in this regard.
Special posters have already been placed on the outer wall of Abbasia Campus with messages about traffic rules and awareness inscribed. On the occasion, National Highway and Motorway Police contingent presented Guard of Honor to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Athar Mahboob, Sector Commander Nadeem Ashraf Warraich and Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Naveed Akhtar, DSP Motorway and Highway Police Rizwan Shah, Dean Faculty of Science Prof. Dr Shazia Anjum, Registrar Prof. Dr Moazzam Jamil, Treasurer Prof. Dr Abu Bakar, Controller Examinations Prof. Dr Sajjad Ahmad Paracha, senior officers and students were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Additional Inspector General of Police South Punjab Captain (retd) Zafar Iqbal Awan paid a surprise visit to Dunyapur. City Dunyapur Police Station and DSP’s Office. The search was started by registering an immediate case and forming different teams. Working all night, the baby was found in a corn field some distance from home Additional Inspector General of Police South Punjab met the heirs of the child at SDPO office and thanked Allah Almighty for finding the child alive and happily offered sweets to the heirs of the child. Capt. (Retd) Zafar Iqbal Awan said that the efforts of DSP and his team in the search are commendable.
The job of the police is to help people in a timely manner, he said. The parents of the child appreciated the cooperation of the police in the search for the child. Meanwhile, Additional IG inspected City Dunyapur Police Station Additional IG South instructed to improve the cleanliness of the police station.
