ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that opposition has no democratic credentials and political thinking.
Talking to the media after inaugurating Solo Calligraphy Exhibition here on Monday, he said government is ready to talk on electoral reforms,NAB laws and other major reforms but the opposition is only looking for a deal.
Fawad said the opposition has no political, administrative or the economic policy and is only finding a lame excuse to protest. He said that the opposition has no political thinking, they cannot come to power by calling Imran Khan bad from morning to night. He advised Maulana Fazlur Rehman to do rent a public business for processions of people. Maulana Fazlur Rehman had been used as much as he should have been, and he is no longer important, he added.
Fawad said that meetings between the Prime Minister and the Army Chief are held in a routine manner. He said matter on appointment of new DG-ISI hae been resolved, the job of the opposition is to make criticism. Commenting on inflation, the minister said that this time, prices of Wheat and electricity are being subsidized. He said that the entire country cannot be run on subsidy. He said the country can not run without planning, howver, the governemnt would return 12 billion US dollar in term of loan this year.
The Federal Minister for Information said that the art of calligraphy is mainly connected with Islam and Muslims. The Holy Quran was written by calligraphers. There is a beautiful calligraphy in Muslim history which is unparalleled anywhere.
He said that the government has named the first Ashra of Rabi-ul-Awal as Ashra-e- Rehmat-ul-Ulameen.
He said the Prime Minister will also address a major conference in connection with celebrations of 12th Rabiul Awal tomorrow.
He said that similar exhibitions would also be organized in Lahore and Karachi.
Fawad said that today the prices of flour and sugar are coming down, bumper crop of sugarcane is expected which will further reduce the prices of sugar. He said that due to non-release of wheat by the Sindh government, flour became expensive in Sindh. Now the Sindh government has also released wheat after which the prices of flour in Sindh will also come down, said Fawad.
In response to a question, the Federal Minister of Information said that oil prices have risen all over the world, we do not live in a separate world, if oil prices rise in the world market, then oil prices will rise here too, if oil prices fall, so will prices also fall here. He said that some political magicians used to talk but do not come up with a solution to the problem.
He said that the opposition had boycotted the session when the government wanted to address the assembly in connection of Sirat-e-Nabvi and Rabi-ul-Awal. “These are not democrats, they are just looking for a deal and now they are looking for an excuse to protest,” he said.
He said that when the opposition finds out that there is a difference between the army and the government, they stand up with their CVs and when they find out that no deal has been reached, they start talking against the army.
Replying to a question, the Federal Minister for Information said that at presently subsidy is being given on ghee, wheat and electricity, the whole country cannot be run on subsidy.
