ISLAMABAD – The joint opposition in the Senate has submitted a resolution with the Senate Secretariat seeking disapproval of NAB ordinances. The opposition has submitted the resolution with the signature of 51 Senators. The opposition has moved the resolution under rule 145 (2) of the Rules of Procedure & Conduct of Business in the Senate 2012. The government has issued three ordinances to amend the National Accountability Ordinance 1999. The recently promulgated National Accountability (Third Amendment) Ordinance 2021 had stripped powers of the Supreme Judicial Council to remove chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and authorised the President to do so.
