ISLAMABAD – Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has condemned mine blast in Bajaur. As per preliminary reports, four personnel of Frontier Constabulary (FC) and police embraced martyrdom in this sad incident of terrorism, said Minister of State Farrukh Habib. He saluted officers of the security forces who sacrificed their lives for the security and defense of motherland. In his condemnation message, the minister of state said, “Our martyrs are our heroes, and their sacrifices will not go in vain. He said that Pakistan’s security forces and military were committed to eradicate menace of terrorism with cooperation of the nation. The state minister also prayed for martyrs of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and security agencies. Meanwhile, a practical demonstration on the use of electronic voting machine (EVM) at Pak-China Center was made here on Thursday. He was briefed in detail on this occasion about practical work of EVM.
“Modern technology is being used for voting procedure all over the world,” said minister of state for information.
He expressed commitment that Pakistan also wanted to hold elections through modern technology. The purpose of using technology is to make the election process transparent, said Farrukh Habib while viewing practical demonstration of EVM.
He said that the use of technology will increase public confidence in election.
Farrukh Habib on this occasion also answered questions raised by delegation of FPCCI (Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry).
Earlier, Farrukh Habib said a ‘Sister City Agreement’ had been signed between China’s Qingdao city and Faisalabad.
In a tweet, he said the agreement will lead to cooperation in different areas, including industry, people-to-people, business-to-business, culture, tourism, education and science and technology.
