ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that peace in Afghanistan is in the best interest of the whole region. In a video message here on Saturday, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon will play their role to bring Taliban and Tajiks closer and efforts will be made to include Tajiks in Afghanistan government. Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said Tajiks across the globe have huge respect for President Emomali Rahmon and it is expected that his efforts will have positive impact on the mentioned purpose.
He said it is imperative to bring Taliban and Tajiks closer for sustainable solution of long standing issues of Afghanistan. He said that Tajikistan’s President during his meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed keen interest in bringing closer both the stakeholders. He added that recent announcement of negotiations from Taliban is historic undertaking. The Minister said that it has not been easier for Taliban to include all those groups in the government, to whom against, they have been struggling since last few decades.
He said that for durable peace in Afghanistan, it has been very imperative to bring closer these two stakeholders.
For durable peace and stability in the region, restoration of economic and social stability is key element, said Information Minister Fawad Chaudhy He said that Tajikistan President and Prime Minister Imran Khan have vowed to work together for peace, stability and security of the region, specifically in Afghanistan.
