The security forces killed at least six Baloch Nationalist Army (BNA) terrorists involved in various terror attacks including the Lahore bomb blast earlier this year, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
“On information of presence of terrorists in general area Nagao Mountains, near Sibi, Balochistan, security forces conducted an operation to apprehend them,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
Once the troops started clearance operation in the area, terrorists tried to escape from their hideout and opened fire on security forces.
Six terrorists belonging to BNA including Naseeb Ullah Bangalzai alias Jahangir, Pir Jan and Rakai Kalhoi were killed in ensuing exchange of fire. “These terrorists were involved in recent security incidents in Sibi and surroundings and were also linked to January 20 blast in Anarkali, Lahore,” the ISPR added.
In addition, the statement said arms and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists, which were intended to be used by them for disrupting peace and security in the area.

“During the operation, a valiant son of soil, Sepoy Nisar embraced Shahadat [martyrdom] while another two soldiers got injured,” read the statement.
Security forces, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts to sabotage peace, stability and progress of Balochistan, said the military’s media wing.
Earlier in January, three people, including a nine-year-old child, were killed while over two-dozen injured when a blast tore through Anarkali Bazar – a bustling market chowk near Lohari Gate, a prominent entrance of the historic walled city.
According to the Lahore police, initial investigation showed that a 1.5 kilogramme improvised explosive device (IED) was planted in a motorcycle parked next to a pushcart outside a bank, which was the cause of the blast.
