ISLAMABAD – The National Control and Operation Centre (NCOC) has decided to inoculate children of age 12 years against coronavirus.
NCOC Chief Asad Umar said on Tuesday that the NCOC meeting has decided to start vaccination of all 12 years and older. NCOC meeting on Tuesday decided to start vaccination of all 12 years and older. “Special drive will be run for vaccination at schools to make it easier for children to be vaccinated,” NCOC chief said in a tweet. A total of 79,531,641 vaccines have been administered till now. Meanwhile, the NCOC said that non-vaccinated people will be facing various restrictions from 1st Oct 2021. “Get yourself completely vaccinated immediately.” It further said that, “Vaccination age limit for general population has been lowered to 12 years. Presently, Pfizer vaccine (2 doses) will be administered to children above 12 years.”
Country reports 41 Covid related deaths in single day
The government had allowed citizens above the age of 17 to get vaccinated from September 1. Shortly after, the government had decided to start vaccinating adolescents in the age group of 15 to 17 years. Earlier this month, the NCOC had revised its Covid-19 vaccination guidelines for citizens below the age of 18 and said that they will be administered the Pfizer vaccine. People below the age of 18 will have to provide their B-form number for registration in the National Immunisation Management System, the NCOC statement had said.
Meanwhile, the country reported 41 more deaths due to coronavirus infection and 1,400 positive cases in a single day. According to the National Command and Operation Centre’s statistics, 44,116 tests were conducted on Monday and the positivity ratio remained 3.17 percent.
