PULASKI, Tenn. (AP) — The University of Tennessee‘s newest campus will get an interim chancellor beginning July 1.
University of Tennessee announced on Thursday that Linda C. Martin will step into the role at UT Southern after current Chancellor Mark La Branche said he plans to retire. Martin currently is the vice president for academic affairs and student success for the UT System. She has also been serving as interim senior vice president for the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture.
Bernie Savarese, associate vice president for student success, will take over as acting vice president for the Agriculture Institute while Martin serves at Southern, according to a UT news release.
UT Southern opened last year after the the University of Tennessee system acquired Martin Methodist College. The search for a new chancellor will launch in January.
