A man hit by a car while crossing the street over the weekend is in a coma fighting for his life. It happened near Southwest Ninth Street and Porter Avenue in Des Moines on Saturday. Authorities said the driver who hit Lamarr Hunt drove off. “We’ve got no solid leads,” said Sgt. Paul Parizek. “We need help from the community on this one, and his family needs help.”Right now, the Hunts have no clue who hit Lamarr. His brother had just left their parent’s place when it happened. “I ended up driving down Southwest Ninth, and then I found my little brother laying in the street,” Christopher Hunt said. The family said all their questions are still unanswered. “I don’t get it,” Christopher Hunt said. “That could be your grandson. That could be your child. That could be your mom. That could be anything on this earth and you did that, and you had no regard and you didn’t call the police. Two people found him before I showed up.”He’s hoping that the driver’s conscious kicks in.”There is somebody in this world that knows what happened because we are living in Iowa,” Christopher Hunt said. “This is a small city. You can’t tell me nobody doesn’t know nothing.”If anyone has information about the hit and run, contact the police at 515-283-4811.
