The much talked about and highly promoted Ranveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar was released yesterday. However, the film met with a tepid response at the box office, with less than appreciative reviews and lacklustre word of mouth the business of the film has been rather low key. In fact, Jayeshbhai Jordaar managed to draw in just Rs. 3.25 cr on Day 1.

In this box office report, we look at the opening day collections of Jayeshbhai Jordaar while comparing the same to Ranveer Sing’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 3.25 cr Jayeshbhai Jordaar has become Ranveer Singh’s second lowest opening day grosser, after his previous release Band Baaja Baaraat which had collected Rs. 0.95 cr. In fact, the actor’s previous releases like Ladies Vs. Ricky Bahl, Lootera and Kill Dil also feature higher on the list with opening day collections of Rs. 4.74 cr, Rs. 5.15 cr and Rs. 6.53 cr respectively.  If that wasn’t all, when looking at Ranveer Singh’s box office track record till date, Jayeshbahi Jordaar also emerges as Ranveer’s fifth film to record opening day collections in single digits.

Going forward, Jayeshbhai Jordaar isn’t expected to see much growth in business, while over the weekend the film’s business will see a slight increase the overall expectations of the film are low. Apart from the low key feedback to the film, the stiff competition from previous releases is also expected to affect the overall business prospects of Jayeshbhai Jordaar greatly.
