Kantara is now on course to be a hit at the box office in the Hindi version as well. While in the original Kannada version it’s already a blockbuster, the Hindi version has pretty much come on its own as well. This was pretty much evident on the second Friday when the film ended up crossing the Rs. 2 crores mark all over again. The Rishab Shetty starrer collected Rs. 2.05 crores and that’s a very good number for a dubbed film with an out and out regional appeal to it.
The film had brought in Rs. 1.27 crores on its first day and with Rs. 2.05 crores coming on the eighth day, it’s crystal clear that the word of mouth for the film is catching up fast, especially amongst the target audience. Not that the film is doing any great shakes in North but at least in pockets, especially in and around Maharashtra, the film is generating good enough moolah. That makes it a widely profitable venture for those who have invested in it.
On its first Saturday the film had collected Rs. 2.75 crores while on Sunday the numbers stood at Rs. 3.50 crores. Given the fact that Rs. 2.05 crores have already come yesterday, Rs. 2.75 crores would very likely get crossed today with a good chance of Rs. 3 crores mark been breached as well. Since this is a holiday season currently, Kantara [Hindi] can well brace up for an overall very good second weekend.
