The Kashmir Files is setting itself for bigger glories as the second week came to a close. With more than Rs. 100 crores coming in the last 7 days, the Vivek Agnihotri directed film has managed to retain a very good count of screens in the third week as well, despite the massive release of RRR.

On Thursday, the film saw a dip in numbers when compared to Wednesday collections of Rs. 10.03 crores and brought in Rs. 7.25 crores. This was on the cards as well since from Monday the settling down phase had begun and after the peak had been reached, the (relative) slowing down had to begin someday. To think about it, the numbers that are coming even on the 14th day are the kind that would be a dream for mid-budget folks to gather even on its first day. It’s just that, so fantastic has been the numbers accumulated by the Anupam Kher-led film all this time that they are just competing with the high benchmark set by them, and hence the term ‘slowing down’. With Rs. 207.33 crores in its kitty already, the film is an all-time blockbuster.

Meanwhile, unfortunately for Bachchhan Paandey, it arrived right in the middle of the whirlpool created by The Kashmir Files due to which it just couldn’t settle down or show any rise. The film has managed to cross the Rs. 50 crores mark by bringing in Rs. 50.25 crores* after the first week. The film was not a Rs. 150 crores hit in the making but even in the worst-case scenario it would have done Rs. 110-125 crores at least, if not for the situation that it found itself in.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
