Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files that released on Friday has fast become the audience favourite in theatres surpassing the other releases like Radhe Shyam, Gangubai Kathiawadi and The Batman. In fact, the film which made headlines in the run up to its release has been reaping the benefits of the immense hype that surrounded it. After seeing a limited release across 650 screens on Friday Day 1, the business of the film saw an exponential growth on its second day running with Rs. 8.50 cr more coming in.

Interestingly, prior to its release, The Kashmir Files faced an uphill task at the box office, with limited promotions, being a non-holiday release and of course facing a mighty opponent at the ticket window in the form of Radhe Shyam, business prospects of the film were rather bleak. However, the highly positive response from the audience to the film has now prompted makers to increase the number of screens. In fact, as the film has emerged triumphant at the box office, theatre chains and owners are also looking to increase shows of the film. In certain locations The Kashmir Files features shows starting as early as 6.30AM.

If that wasn’t enough, with the audience opting for The Kashmir Files over the other releases, and advance bookings for Day 3 seeing a massive spike, the makers of the film have increase the number of screens to 2000 to accommodate the patrons. Given this highly positive business trend it will come as no surprise if The Kashmir Files manages to surpass the lifetime collections of The Tashkent Files within just three days of its release.
