ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has lashed out at Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that his government’s so-called accountability drive would meet the same fate as those of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.
“Imran Khan’s mantra of corruption has lost all credibility the same way as his mentor, General [retd] Musharraf who is a traitor and absconder. Imran Khan will also have to face a similar fate like him,” Bilawal said while addressing a PPP’s workers convention in Multan on Thursday.

Bilawal challenged PM Imran to arrest him along with former president Asif Zardari and party leader Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari. “If Imran has the courage then he can come and arrest them. From Quaid-e-Awam [Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto] to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari, all were exonerated from fake corruption charges,” he added.
The PPP stalwart said PM Imran has committed a great injustice to Multan by not awarding an appreciation certificate to Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who hails from Multan. Bilawal said the premier only conferred the certificates to his “lackeys”.
On one hand, the government boasts about a successful foreign policy and the recent Chinese visit but on the other deprives the foreign minister of an appreciation certificate, he added.

Bilawal said his party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) has announced a war against the “selected and puppet” government of PM Imran. “The PPP has started its protests all over the country on every issue, including the petrol, gas, sugar and urea crises. The party held the farmers’ march and tractor march for the rights of the growers who provide food security to the country.”

The PPP’s much-touted long march on Islamabad set to begin on February 27 from Karachi will hold PM Imran responsible for the economic woes of the masses, he added.
“We will not let the selected cause more harm to the people of Pakistan. We have to contact every person who has ever raised the slogan of “Jeay Bhutto” and ask for them to support the party and the people of Pakistan.”
Bilawal said the premier awarded certificates to the ministers who halted the CPEC projects and promised to create a new province.
He gave another certificate to a minister who was removed from one ministry and now is the minister for planning, Bilawal said while referring to PTI leader Asad Umar.
The PPP leader went on to say that by awarding certificates to only 10 ministers, PM Imran had expressed “no–confidence” over the performance of rest of the federal cabinet members.
“Success of the long march is already apparent to all. One of Imran’s friends has been disqualified. Now, the government’s allies are also changing their views..,” he said referring to the ECP’s decision of disqualifying Senator Faisal Vawda.
“We will expose every facilitator of Imran Khan on the way to Islamabad. When we bring the no-confidence, the world will see who is with Imran Khan and who is not,” he added.
