Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will announce a “big relief” for people in the next two days, adding that PML-N had prepared many generations to serve the people.
“We care about our people. Our future generations will also be seen serving the people through politics,” she said while addressing a rally in Jhang.
Criticising former prime minister Imran Khan, Maryam said that the PTI chief was “in pain” over relief given by the government of Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz on electricity and that is why he approached the court.
“Who are you? No one knows your roots. If something happens to you today, PTI will be finished and nothing will be left,” she said.

Maryam said that the people were going through a rough patch due to the hard steps taken by the government but added that the masses had the belief that Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif will take the country out of crises.
“When I went out for the election campaign, I had inflation in my mind but when I went out in public, I saw a different picture as people had confidence in Nawaz Sharif.”
The PML-N leader said that as soon as the tariffs of oil got lowered in the international market, PM Shehbaz sought the summary [form relevant ministries], adding that the premier would announce a reduction in prices of petrol and diesel in next two days.
“Before arriving here, Shehbaz Sharif told me to tell the people of Jhang that their problems will be addressed,” she added.
Earlier in the day, addressing a rally at Gojra Mor, Maryam had said that the hard times were over and good times were upon us. “PML-N was not competing with Imran Khan but with inflation, incompetence and with those who envy Punjab,” she said.
She urged the masses to vote for PML-N during the July 17 by-polls and “pick the enemies of Punjab, throw them out of the province and end their politics.”
