ISLAMABAD – The National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) on Sunday recovered valuables worth thousands of rupees and returned to their owners.
According to details, a person named Imran was travelling with his family from Peshawar to Lahore on Motorway. He reported that a female family member forgot her bag at Kallar Kahar Service Area of Islamabad-Lahore Motorway (M2).
The NHMP after receiving a call came into action and successfully searched the bag and returned it to its owner. The bag contained Rs100,000 cash, two smart phones worth two hundred thousand rupees.
Meanwhile, in another incident, the NHMP during routine patrolling found six bags lying beside the road.
The bags contained 2 laptops, 3 smart phones and other belongings apparently of some students. On search the NHMP found a phone number inside the bags. The police traced the bags owners and returned the same to them.
The Deputy Inspector General of NHMP Ashfaq Ahmad has lauded the services of field officers and said that motorway police will keep continuing its services to road users effectively and efficiently.
Later, in a video circulating on social media, the students can also be seen appreciating motorway police as according to them degrees of the students were in the bags.
