HE RECEIVED AN ALERT ON HIS PHONE FROM HIS HOME SECURITY SYSTEM. HE WATEDCH THE WHOLE SCENE UNFOLD THANKS TO THIS SURVEILLANCE CAMERA MOUNTED TO HIS GARAGE. HEY BLANTLY LOOKED AT THE CAMERA AND HE DIDN’’ CARE. THIS IS THE MAN WHO BROKE INTO TIMOTHY BASSETT’S HOME ON AUGUST 9TH. THE SUSPECT PULLED UP ON A BICYCLE AROUND 10:45 AM THEN PROWLED AROUND FOR A WHILE BEFORE BUSTING OUT THE REAR DOOR WINDOW. I WOULD LABEL THEM VERY BOLD. I MEAN HE DIDN’T HE TOOK THE TIME TO SIT DOWN ON A SWING SET AND DRINK A BEER. HE EVEN STOLE CIGAR — OUT OF AN ASHTRAY. I MEAN WHO WOULD DO TTHA THE SUSPECT FOUND THE KEYS TO BASSETT’S TRUCK, WHICH WAS FILLED WITH BASSETT’S TOOLS. TOOK OFF THAT’S WHAT SET OFF BA SSETT’S RING ALERT, AND HE IMMEDIATELY CALLED POLICE AND WHEN I CAME BACK TO IT AFTER I’VE ALREADY CALLED THE COPS TELL HIM THAT IT WAS STOLEN THE MAN SWA BACK WITH MY TRUCK THE SUSPECT CAME BACK FOR HIS BICYCLE THEN LEFT THEN. AND BACK AGAIN THIS TIME HE WENT BACK INTO THE HOUSE AND TOOK MONEY AND BASSETTES FIREARMS. ONE OF THEM WAS MY GRANDFATHER’S GUN. I GOT IT WHEN I WAS A KID, BUT I JUST IN THE LAST TWO YEARS ACTUALLY TKOO POSSESSION OF IT, AND THERE’S THE FINAL TIME POCELI ARRIVED WHILE THE SUSPECT IS STILL AT LARGE BASSETT’S TRUCK WAS FOUND THURSDAY NOW COVERED IN DENSE AND SCRATCHES. THE INCIDENTAS H LEFT HIM AND HIS FIANCE SHAKEN. I DON’T FEEL SAFE GOING TOY M GARAGE AT NIGHT TO GRAB A BEER OUT OF A FRIDGE. I MEAN, IT’S NOT FAIR BASSETT’S FIREARMS AND TOOLS HAVE NOT BEEN RECOVERED YET. DAN HE SAYS HE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON NEW SECURITY MEASURES AND NEW LOCKS AND KEYS FOR HIS HOME.
Thief breaks into house, has a beer as homeowner watches on live surveillance
Timothy Bassett couldn’t believe what he was watching.His Ring surveillance camera app alerted him to some movement in his driveway, which turned out to be a thief stealing his truck. Bassett was even more surprised when the thief came back – not once, but twice – while police were on the way.”I would label him very bold,” Bassett said. “I mean, he took the time to sit down on a swing set and drink a beer. He even stole cigarette butts out of an ashtray. I mean, who would do that?”Looking back on the video, the incident began around 10:45 a.m. on Aug. 9, when the suspect rode up to Bassett’s house on a bicycle. The man prowled around Bassett’s house for a while, peeking into windows, before finally busting out the window of the rear door and entering the house.That’s where the suspect found the keys to Bassett’s truck, which was full of tools. The thief took off in Bassett’s truck and that’s when Bassett called the police.When the suspect then returned for his bicycle, Bassett called police again.Then the man came back once more, this time taking money and firearms.”One of them was my grandfather’s gun,” Bassett said. “I got it when I was a kid, but I just in the last two years took possession of it. There’s no replacing it.”Police arrived about ten minutes after the suspect left. On Thursday, Bassett’s truck was found, full of dents and scratches.”It’s all messed up now,” Bassett said. “The truck was in perfect condition before and this guy just gave no blatant care of what happens to it.”The man who broke into the house has yet to be identified. He may be in the area of Louisville, Kentucky.
