This is one Cirkus for which curtains have come down much sooner than later. Put together with much fanfare and carrying a celebration feel to it that went well with the title, the Rohit Shetty film was designed as a big screen affair. However in the process things didn’t quite turn out the way they were envisaged and audiences decided to stay away in the opening weekend itself. Things could have been better if not for the downpour of negativity but then that’s inevitable in today’s social media times when there is no middle path.

Avatar Box Office: Film is mind-blowing on Monday

Meanwhile, Avatar: The Way of Water is enjoying a simply mind-blowing run at the box office. The film didn’t see any fall whatsoever and stayed in the same range as Friday collections of Rs. 13 crores. This is nearly impossible for the best of the films which are collecting in double digits even in the first week and here this is happening for a Hollywood film in the second week, which is unprecedented.

The film is now set to be an all-time blockbuster and very soon would enter the Rs. 300 Crore Club. It has already collected Rs. 262 crores* and in the coming Friday it will go past the Rs. 300 crores mark. With no competition whatsoever in the week after, sky is the limit for the James Cameron directed sci-fi drama which is now set to be the biggest Hollywood grosser ever in India.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited

Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
