Box Office: Liger (Hindi) has a major drop on Monday, Karthikeya 2 (Hindi) hangs in there :Bollywood Box Office – Bollywood Hungama

It is turning out to be rather routine story at the box office with films just not working at all. Monday drops are no more surprising since tell tale signs are in the first weekend itself with no growth been show and worse, declines are happening by Sundays. That has now become a trend and while bigger movies like Shamshera, Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan were not been spared either, and then it was going to be no different for Liger (Hindi).

This is what happened on Monday when the film came down from Rs. 4.50 crores on Friday to Rs. 1.50 crores*. As it is, Monday collections were okay just from the perspective of majority of 2023 films not managing even that. However, from the absolute numbers perspective, it was just a decent total. However, from there to get, further fall was always going to be heart breaking and this is what happened for the Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Pandey film. With collections standing at Rs. 15.25 crores* now, the film is going to end as a one week affair.

Meanwhile, Karthikeya 2 (Hindi) will actually be a four-week show as despite releasing alongside Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan, it is enjoying a good stay at theatres and will go on till the arrival of Brahmastra. It has turned out to be a lottery for those who invested in the film as its collections currently stand at Rs. 24.08 crores*. Given the lack of competition, it could have been a little better on Monday as the collections were fair at Rs. 0.55 crores*, not great. However, the situation that the exhibition and distribution circle is currently finding itself in, it will take whatever good comes its way.
