The Ayan Mukerji directorial Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt was released a while back. Also featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy along with guest appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, the film was expected to be one of this year’s biggest money spinners. Living up to expectations Brahmastra which hit over 9000 screens worldwide has been raking in the moolah since its release.
In this box office report, we look at the collections of Brahmastra at the close of its second weekend at the Australia box office while comparing the same to previous releases of 2022 that have hit screens in this overseas market. Not surprisingly, Brahmastra which enjoyed the widest release in Australia for a Bollywood release, across commercial cinema chains and art house cinemas as well, has emerged as the highest Bollywood grosser of 2022 at the Australia box office. Collecting A$ 1,466,180 Brahmastra has surpassed the collections of the Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha which drew in A$ 1,277,543 during its theatrical run. Besides this, the business of Brahmastra has also managed to overshadow the collections of other releases like The Kashmir Files which collected A$ 1,146,137, Gangubai Kathiawadi which collected A$ 1,049,505, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which collected A$ 9,47,255.
Given the fact that Brahmastra has managed this feat by the end of its second weekend running, the film continues to dominate the box office window. In fact, predictions claim that the business of Brahmastra will continue to maintain its momentum at the Australia box office over the coming weekdays as well.
