The Yash starrer KGF – Chapter 2 was released a week ago and since then the film has been unstoppable at the box office. After opening on a high note, the business of the film fast crossed not just the Rs. 100 cr mark but the Rs. 200 cr and Rs. 250 cr mark as well. Now on day 8 KGF 2 has managed to draw in a further Rs. 13.58 cr, taking its total collections to Rs. 268.63 cr.

Collecting Rs. 268.63 cr in its first week, KGF – Chapter 2 out beats the collections of RRR which collected Rs. 132.59 cr and Sooryavanshi which collected Rs. 120.66 cr to become the highest opening week grosser post the pandemic. Besides these two films, the collections of KGF 2 have also surpassed other releases like the Vivek Agnihotri directorial The Kashmir Files which collected Rs. 97.3 cr, 83 which collected Rs. 71.87 cr, Gangubai Kathiawadi which collected Rs. 69.93 cr, and Bachchhan Paandey which collected Rs. 47.98 cr.

Now with the release of the Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey the business of KGF – Chapter 2 is likely to see a slight dip. However, trade predictions remain highly optimistic stating that the collections of the Yash starrer will continue to remain steady, with the film even seeing an increase in business over the weekend. In fact, it will come as no surprise if the collections of KGF 2 cross the Rs. 300 cr mark by the end of its second weekend running.
