ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz accused on Thursday Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and “his coach” of being involved in her audio leak.
Talking to the media after after appearing before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) – that ordered her and her husband to be acquitted in the Avenfield reference earlier today – Maryam demanded the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on the cipher-related audio leaks.
“Imran Khan kept on making conspiratorial plans in the Prime Minister House, and everyone kept watching,” she said referring to the former premier’s audio leak, in which he is discussing the diplomatic cable with this then principal secretary Azam Khan.
Maryam said that Imran Khan was betraying the country and that he violated the position of the prime minister and disrespected it.
The PML-N leader also said that Imran pushed the institutions of the country into conflict and conspired against Pakistan with Azam Khan.

She further criticised the PTI chief and said he came to power on crutches and is tampering with important documents, “just as he used to tamper balls in the Gaddafi Stadium”.
Acquittal in Avenfield case
The PML-N leader thanked the Almighty for being acquitted in the Avenfield reference.
Maryam had been sentenced to seven years in prison and her husband a year in prison in 2018. However, they were both on bail since September 2018.
Speaking to the media today about the acquittal, Maryam said that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif will also return to Pakistan soon as she referred to Imran Khan as a “helpless” person.
“I want to say to those who made a case against us that you failed!” she added.
