ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is preparing an agenda for the upcoming joint sitting of the Parliament likely to be summoned in the current week. The agenda for the upcoming legislation will be compiled in a couple of days, which was referred to the joint sitting of the Parliament recently through National Assembly proceedings, parliamentary sources revealed. The controversial bills were blocked by the opposition-dominated Senate and the government could not be able to pass it in the stipulated period of 90 days. They said that the government was confident to approve these bills in the joint sitting of the Parliament taking the plea under Article-70 of the Constitution. The bills referred to the joint session include ‘Emigration (Amendment) Bill, 2021’, ‘Muslim Family Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021 (Amendment in Section 4)’, ‘National College of Arts Institute Bill, 2021’, ‘Privatization Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2021’, ‘Pakistan Academy of Letters (Amendment) Bill, 2021’, ‘Corporate Restructuring Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2021’, ‘Financial Institutions (Secured Transactions) (Amendment) Bill, 2021’, ‘SBP Banking Services Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2021’, ‘Loans for Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Purposes (Amendment) Bill’, ‘Maritime Security Agency (Amendment) Bill, 2021’, ‘Port Qasim Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2021’, ‘Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2021’, ‘Gwadar Port Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2021’ and others.
